Roti Jala

Made these during our Hari Raya Open house recently in Kuching. There are various versions of Roti Jala recipes. I've tried all I think, and for our open house - I followed the recipe below but of course in larger quantity.

Roti Jala - best eaten with Curry Chicken or Beef. Some take it with serunding too :)

Original recipe from Mat Gebu's blog :) I have copied and pasted the recipe below.

Bahan2 :

2 cawan tepung gandum
*1/2 camca teh serbuk penaik*(*disatukan dan ayak)
4 camca besar santan atau susu cair ( I used santan)
1/3 camca teh garam
2 1/2 cawan air2 camca besar minyak masak
Sedikit pewarna kuning
Minyak untuk menggris kuali

Cara Membuat :

p/s I decided on this recipe because its different from the ones that I normally make i.e. the usage of baking powder. But hey - it turned out great. Try it sometimes :)

Hi Sweetbites

I just hopped over to your blog last night. What a co-incidence!

This is the second time I tried this recipe, and its not originally mine. The roti jala didnt increase in size and the taste is good. I cant say its different but its good. I like it.

Try it sometimes. Just follow the recipe. Should turn out ok.

hi,
bila baca resepi roti jala ni,saya rasa sama macam saya selalu order kat makcik tu,sebab dia add santan jugak. Seperkara lagi ,you larat berdiri menjala ke? Den dah tak kuek laeii nak togak kek dapur tu...tu sobab den ordar saja..mahal wei..1 kilo rm 15.00

Kak Izzah..

Mahal nyer I kilo RM15! Kalau macam tu Wlily kena terus berdiri togak ler bila menjala nih!

Hari tu lagi mencabar, acuan roti jala my mom termisplaced, semua tempat dicari tak ada, kedai tak semua yang bukak. Tak ada masa pun nak keluar beli. So Wlily guna aluminium foil, buat cone shape and potong sikit muncung dia..yang ni pun kira acuan mata satu!..adeii....togak Kak Izzah...togak berdiri, betis and pinggang pun sakit..tapi hati puas :)

p/s Kak Izzah..

Wlily dah try semua resipi roti jala, and so far, my personal preference is those that includes santan. :)

Cuba lah nanti..buat sikit sikit jer dulu, setengah resipi ke..

p/p/s Dah jumpa acuan pai tee?
