Face To Face Wiz Da Kitchenz

I decided to create a separate blog just for food / kuih muih / other recipes. Food doesnt seem to jive well with my Musings of A Home Diva blog...macam tak kena je topic dia.

I have always been drawn to ...recipe books!!! hahaha...eversince I got married more than a decade ago. But work (excuse la ni..) has always been in the way for me to really nuture my interest into passion in pow-wow cookin'. Now that I am a homemaker, I hope to make a difference in this part of my life. I am not a newbie in da kitchenz (sebab dah lama hidup kan..?), though I can never laud myself even as half the expert as some of my friends are. No one has 'kojol' yet from consuming the food I prepared, so I guess that's okay then? :)

I will start posting the recipes once I have settled down nicely in AUH! Which reminds me...I need a nice camera for the pics eh..? Not just a simple digital camera? ...hello, significant half who might be reading this...hint hint *wink* :)

Hello Waterlily, to thank you for your kind thoughts and gesture re the 'tag'....I present you my favorite cake...the recipie.
Hope you like it.
Call me if you make it, ha ha. Thanks and have a great Hari Raya. Best regards, Lee.

Pineapple Pound Cake.
1 can (20 ounces) crushed pineapple, undrained, divided.

1/2 cup vegetable shortening
1 cup butter or margarine (2 sticks)
2 cups granulated sugar
6 large eggs
3 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar

Put 3/4 cup undrained pineapple with its juice in a small bowl; set aside. Drain remaining pineapple and measure 1 cup; set aside.

Cream shortening, butter, and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition. Sift flour and baking powder together; add to creamed mixture, 1 large spoonful at a time, alternately with milk.

Add vanilla; stir in 3/4 cup undrained pineapple with juice and blend well. Pour batter into a well greased and floured 10-inch tube pan. Place in cold oven. Turn oven to 325∞ and bake for 1 1/2 hours, or until top springs back when touched lightly with finger.

Let pineapple pound cake stand for few minutes in pan. Run knife around edges to loosen and remove pineapple cake carefully to a rack. Combine butter, confectioners' sugar, and about 1 cup drained pineapple. Pour pineapple sauce over cake while still hot.

Selamat Hari Raya, Lee.

Hi Waterlily,
Congrats on your new home here. Cepatlah post. Nak idea buka puasa ni...
BTW, I have food blog too which is rather slow nowadays. Feel free to try the recipe. My intention of the blog is definitely for my girls. Klu dah kawin nanti nak masak utk hubby masing2, refer blog mama. Tak payah kejap2 nak call to masak itu ini.. (like what im doing now with my mom) Mama & Papa nak honeymoon around the world. Hahahaha!
